What is IMU CET?
IMU CET is a national-level entrance test conducted by the Indian Maritime University for admission to B.Tech (Marine Engineering), B.Sc (Nautical Science), DNS (Deck Cadet), B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair), and other programmes. It is the single most important exam for students who wish to build a career in the Merchant Navy.
Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Age: 17–25 years (relaxation for reserved categories)
- Academics: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM) — minimum 60% aggregate for B.Tech Marine Engineering
- Medical: Must clear ENG 1 maritime medical fitness standards
- Vision: 6/6 corrected vision; no colour blindness for certain programmes
